Supporting neurodiversity and learners with SEND in computing

Every learner deserves access to high-quality computing education, and teachers play a vital role in making that a reality, adapting lessons and environments to meet a wide range of needs.

CPD to support inclusive practice

The NCCE offers a wide range of CPD opportunities designed to help schools support learners with additional learning needs and disabilities. Many courses focus directly on inclusive practice, while others include elements that help engage and support all learners in computing.

I Belong in Computing Conference

Our inaugural I Belong in Computing conference is taking place on 11 March 2026, focusing on advancing digital skills, equality, and inclusion in computing education.

Join us for a dynamic and inspiring conference with engaging keynote speakers, thought-provoking discussions, and interactive sessions.

Teach Computing Curriculum: adaptable for every learner

The Teach Computing Curriculum is fully open under the Open Government Licence (OGL), meaning schools can adapt it to meet the needs of all learners. It’s designed with flexibility in mind, and many units include scaffolding and strategies that support inclusive practice. There are specific units that help learners with additional learning needs and disabilities thrive by breaking down concepts into smaller steps, using visual supports, and incorporating unplugged activities to make abstract ideas more accessible.
