The ‘advanced teaching of GCSE computer science’ pathway is designed for teachers who are already confident in subject knowledge up to GCSE who are looking to improve student progress and attainment even further. Over a period of two weeks you will develop your GCSE Computer Science subject knowledge leading towards recognised certification. You'll be supported along the way by experienced teaching professionals, among a group of your peers. You'll participate in live remote CPD and mentored, online CPD accessible on-demand.With a choice of course options available, you'll become confident in supporting students of GCSE computer science, including the highest achievers. You'll take away ready-to-use and successful teaching approaches from experienced teachers, supported by the latest research and evidence.Over the two week period, you’ll complete the two remote courses below:
- Higher attainment in GCSE computer science
- Python programming: advanced subject knowledge, implementation and testing
By completing this pathway you will:
- Diagnose any computer science subject knowledge deficits, and fill any gaps.
- Develop detailed knowledge of the Computer Science GCSE and its expectations of students and teachers including the highest achievers.
